Finding Momentum in the Everyday

A hand writes in a spiral notebook on a clean desk beside a closed journal, suggesting a quiet moment of focus and daily practice.

For years, I’ve wrestled with the problem of time. How do I make enough of it to write? Some days the words fly faster than I can catch them, and other days it feels like I’m dragging my feet through mud. I’ve started plenty of stories, but the truth is I’ve never finished one. And I’d very much like to change that.

So I’ve come up with a plan. I’m calling it a 45-day journey. Not a challenge, because there’s nothing at stake if I miss a day. No penalties, no judgment. What it gives me instead is structure. Each day I follow a short list: write something, move my body, and take one small step toward career growth. It doesn’t sound like much, but done consistently, it adds up.

This isn’t about perfection. It’s about showing up. It’s about proving to myself that steady effort will get me where I want to be. At the end of the 45 days, I hope to see not only pages of words, but also a pattern of persistence that I can carry forward.
